November 2024 price changes

Another year has quickly flown by, with continued inflation, raising the prices of our underlying costs from all our suppliers and vendors.

While our policy continues to be keeping our plan pricing as low as possible, the nature of rising costs which we’ve all experienced means we need to realistically raise our pricing to account for the increases in costs from LFCs, and increased operational costs.

Effective 1st November 2024, the following price changes will come into place:

PlanCurrent Monthly PriceNew Monthly Price
Walker (50Mbps/10Mbps)$56.00$60.00
Runner (300Mbps/100Mbps)$79.00$85.00
Sprinter (900Mbps/400Mbps)$95.00$105.00
Rocket 2G (2Gbps/2Gbps)$135.00$140.00

The above price changes will come into force for any existing customers with a plan renewing from 1st November 2024, as well as any new customer orders from 18th October 2024.

There are no changes to our existing policies or pricing methodologies, including no contract terms on all plans, and no payment gateway fees, with both Credit Card and Online EFTPOS accepted.

By keeping on top of our pricing methodology, this allows our team to provide the quality of service you’ve come to expect from Quic, as well as continue our innovations and development into the future with exciting new functionalities coming soon to all customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: “Why are you increasing some of your prices more than the increase by the LFC?”
A: As you can imagine, there are multiple input costs to our services we need to consider (we talk about what makes up our pricing here), most have which have all increased, which is being seen by all of us across the country (just look at supermarket prices – eek!)
With everything that’s happening in both the industry with price increases, and in general, we can’t absorb the cost increases, and must increase prices as per above to ensure we can continue to provide you service.

Q: “Why are you raising prices effective 1st November, when Chorus are increasing prices 1st January?”
A: Throughout the course of the year, we have experienced cost pressures and increases across our service portfolio. To keep our pricing consistent across the country, we have opted to absorb these price increases for a period of time, and bring forward the Chorus price increases by a couple of months, bringing together a middle ground for the increased costs we’ve already absorbed, and the increased costs coming around the corner.
This allows us to continue to keep consistent pricing wherever you may be based in the country, which keeps our plans easy to understand with no surprises.

Q: “Why are new customers having the price increase from 18th October?”
A: As we run billing in prepaid monthly periods, we cannot change pricing mid-way through a billing period once paid. Therefore by bringing the date forward for new customers, we ensure that there is at least 2 weeks of serviceable billing during November. Alongside this, many new orders come through with a connection date in the future, so bringing this change forward ensures these customers are paying new pricing when going live, often a few weeks after the order is placed.

    Hi Team,
Just wondering why there is a $10 price increase on the Sprinter plan as is much higher than all of your other plans.
    Cheers,
    Simon

    1. Quic Broadband

Hey Simon, thanks for the question!
The Sprinter plan was one of the largest increases in prices that came down from LFCs. Alongside this, our metrics showed an increasing amount of bandwidth being used on our Sprinter plans, which is great to see, however does bump our calculations up on the average bandwidth required per service to support customers on this plan.
All up, with this in mind as well as increased business operational costs, unfortunately our Sprinter plan did end up having the largest cost increase this year.
This does mean it’s a great time to check in on your bandwidth requirements, and whether a plan change is worthwhile for your use case – as with Quic, you can upgrade and downgrade your plan in the portal at any time.
